Introduction to the Art of Modern Calligraphy

One of my goals this year was to learn calligraphy and this weekend I made a step towards accomplishing that goal by enrolling in and beginning a class via Skillshare called Introduction to the Art of Modern Calligraphy by Molly Jacques. What’s great about this class is that it includes video tutorials by Molly and easy lesson steps to follow with no time constraints on getting work done. Which means I can move as fast or as slow as I would like. She even lists a shopping list to get you started. Luckily I already had some of the supplies from my mom, but the rest I was able to order from Paper & Ink Arts.

If you are thinking about learning a new skill, I highly encourage you to check out Skillshare. There are so many talented people in the world and having a resource like this available makes me love these people, willing to share their talents, even more. Classes are cheap. Mine was only 20 bucks and I even had a coupon code for 20% off. Can’t beat it really. Take a look around here and learn something new.

Never stop learning, folks.

For now, I’ll leave you with a little inspiration from Molly.

  1. What a great idea! I would love to learn calligraphy one day, and I had never heard of Skillshare, so thanks for passing along this resource!

  2. Oo this is so fun! Let me know how it goes. I’m addressing the invitations for two friends’ wedding, and I need to get on learning/practicing the curve. 🙂
